SAPI-3 w/Four GP9 |
Description: |
Wow...as if the normal two highhoods wasn't enough, today's train has four coming into Waterville from Hinckley. This is due to a fuel pump problem on the original two units (third & fourth here). Rescue units came from WA-1. |

These two units are headed a short distance further to rescue a stranded SAPI-3, which also has a pair of high hood GP9 that broke down. Decided to allow the power lines (which I always try to avoid!) in favor of the foreground color! |

SAPI-3 w/Four GP9 |
Description: |
First, the power didn't run right & the train broke down, then two more units were sent to the rescue. All & all, the short trip from Sappi's paper mill in Hinckley to PanAm's yard in Waterville will end up taking 5 hours today! |

Normally, 5MPH track would make for a splendid "chase"....but this is one of only a handful of open spots to observe the daily train from the Sappi paper mill. |

One of the few open spots on the short journey from the Sappi mill to Waterville yard. Can you imagine that, if this is 2009, how many times this scene has played out over the years?? |
