FEC #226 w/FEC 104

FEC #101 w/RailAmerica 104
Title:  FEC #101 w/RailAmerica 104
Description:  They may not have to reletter the 104 for FEC if they send the four new SD70M-2 back, which is presently a popular rumour circulating. Why send them back? FEC is sidelining many of its own motors in addition to sending others out to other RailAmerica lines, so why keep the high price-tag items if they aren't yet paid for? UPDATE 5/9/09: both of these motors were heavily damaged in a massive derailment 20-odd miles to the south, it is likely 701 will be retired.

The "New" FEC 104
Title:  The "New" FEC 104
Description:  Happy 4th of July! 104 was originally the only SD70M-2 to wear "RailAmerica" lettering, after a derailment in May, it returned to the road with full "FEC" lettering. Note that they didn't replace the "RA" logo on the nose. On the rear, it has a "FEC" logo similar to the first four SD70M-2. Would be nice if they do put a FEC logo on the nose next. Also of interest to note, when 104 first hit the road in January, it was paired with 706, as seen in this photo & the very first photo in this album.

FEC #336/Cemex Unit Train
Title:  FEC #336/Cemex Unit Train
Description:  Here's one FEC train you might hear alot about, but rarely see. Cemex's Unit Train runs north from Medley overnight to City Point & unloads (remote control) during the day before heading back south after dark. City Point is usually the only place to catch this one, it runs three days a week.

FEC #101 w/Dual RailAmericas
Title:  FEC #101 w/Dual RailAmericas
Description:  Two of the RailAmerica SD70M-2 pull hotshot #101 south today. It had been uncommon to find a pair of them together, but with the ever-shifting power pool, it's becoming a bit easier to catch.

FEC #101 w/Dual RailAmericas
Title:  FEC #101 w/Dual RailAmericas
Description:  While this is a good spot to listen to the whine of the EMDs in notch 8, you can see how drastically different the lighting situation is vs the previous Saint Augustine shots. This is why photographers tend to flock there when photographing the FEC.

FEC #101 w/Dual RailAmericas
Title:  FEC #101 w/Dual RailAmericas
Description:  SD70M-2 duos are currently the "staple diet" for trains 101 & 107, but getting a pair in RA paint is difficult. Both motors are online & howling with a healthy 10,000+ foot train in tow.
