Another one worth writing home about. It's taken a good many years for me to get this one leading, and only by default today. Crew had to go well out of their way to run the wye at Stanton for this as the CSXT motor "looked like it was in a trainwreck" according to crew. Legend also has it this motor came to the Helm fleet by default as BN wrecked one before shipping it. Flares on hood were retrofitted for BN's natural gas program. The other unit in that project, 7890, still works for BNSF & also passed by Taft in January (in darkness!) |

The epitome of "BN Whiteface". 7149 retained most of its BN paint when it went to Helm, but lost the BN lettering on hood & logo on nose. Has been difficult to find in the lead until now! |
